Faculty Learning Community: Facilitating Meaningful Engagement with Reading

When

10 – 11 a.m., Jan. 23 – March 4, 2023

A Faculty Learning Community (FLC) co-facilitated by CUES Distinguished Fellow, Shelley Rodrigo, featuring her CUES project

Have you ever wondered how much reading to assign? How many students do the reading? What strategies students employ? This FLC dives into reading pedagogy to focus on how and why we read in our courses. The goal is to support students with reading and develop richer interactions with texts in the classroom. Members will read short articles, discuss strategies, and develop materials for their own contexts. We are excited to invite folks from all across campus, disciplines, programs, and reading pedagogy familiarity to join.

Weekly: January 23-March 4, 2023

Mondays: 10:00-11:00 AM

Target Audience: Faculty, staff, and graduate students across the UArizona campus, disciplines, programs, and reading pedagogy familiarity

Note: This FLC is part of the larger Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) Faculty Learning Communities series.  All offerings will be on Zoom and weekly for 5 weeks starting the week of January 23rd.
